The Power of Prayer

Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with the oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

As followers of Christ, we thirst for God’s plan for our lives. We long for connection and a sense of His presence in all we do. Prayer aligns our priorities with God’s will, as well as produces answers to our prayers. Truly, prayer brings blessings. Prayer is powerful.

While writing this post, urgent prayers came in. Please join me in prayer. Let us enact our faith, as we connect with the Lord in prayer…

Heavenly Father we praise you. You have known from the very beginning that this is where you would find me at this very moment in time, on my knees in prayer, asking for Your love, Your guidance and Your presence to wash over me as I pray for fellow believers. I am an imperfect vessel, but You are flawless and Your mercy is uncontainable.

Please allow Your Spirit to flow through us all as we pray.

Lord, we lift up Art, a beloved brother, husband, son, and family man. He has been hospitalized because of clots found in his lungs and his legs. Cancer is likely the culprit. Lord, he loves you, knows you, and longs to glorify you in this. Therefore, we trust in Your will and Your plan. We ask You for healing of Art’s body. Allow for his family’s prayers to be answered. We declare your promise, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7 NIV) Therefore, in Spirit, we ask for miracle healing.

Also, we lift up Miss A in prayer. Lord you know her well, for she has a tremendous faith and a sincere heart for you. You know she has been diagnosed with a very rare, painful and incurable illness that only your healing power can cure. Please hear her cries and our petition that your healing hands be upon her. Please allow the medicine to ease her pain. She loves you, prays without ceasing, and trusts in Your will for her life. Please allow for healing to be part of her testimony.

Lord, there is such power when we come together and pray in Your name. We are so grateful when you reach in and touch our lives through the miracle of answered prayer. We long for it. Thank you for your perfect love. We want to glorify You in our faith and trust as we place these prayers before you. Praise Jesus, in whose name I pray.
